About Us

Strategic advice grounded in how clients actually think

The legal industry is changing quickly and many firms are struggling to keep pace with rising demands around operational efficiency, technology adoption (including AI), and competitive positioning.

Practical Counsel Advisors helps law firms modernize delivery of services to business clients, work more effectively, and build for the future with confidence.

Founded by a lawyer for lawyers, we combine deep industry expertise and AI to align people, processes, and technology so your firm can operate strategically, stay grounded in reality, and remain focused on client work.

Who We Are

A woman with shoulder-length brown hair wearing a pink dress sitting at a white table in front of a white brick wall, smiling.

Our founder, Misty Leon, brings a rare dual perspective to law practice management: she has been on both sides of the table. As a former law firm partner and in-house counsel at a Fortune 500 company, she understands the daily pressures firms navigate and how sophisticated business clients evaluate outside counsel. That dual vantage point informs everything we do.

Unclear roles, inefficient workflows, and outdated operating habits quietly erode profitability and limit your firm's capacity to grow. Our practical, implementation-focused approach is designed to produce results that are realistic, actionable, and built to last.

How We Help

We work with firm leaders to identify operational challenges, prioritize solutions, and deliver measurable results. We do not deliver strategy binders that sit untouched. We build clear, workable systems and translate complex organizational challenges into actionable policies and streamlined workflows your team can (and will) actually use.

We help firms bring order to tangled processes, clarify leadership responsibilities, and create a more intentional approach to firm operations, in a way that feels manageable rather than disruptive.

Navigating AI With Confidence

AI is already affecting your firm, whether you have addressed it directly or not. Your lawyers and staff are likely using AI tools in some capacity. In 2026, the question is no longer whether to engage with AI, but how to do so responsibly.

A core part of our work is guiding firms from passive exposure to intentional strategy. We help demystify AI, identify where it can improve workflows, and put the right guardrails in place. That includes aligning AI use with client expectations, professional obligations, and the realities of legal practice. Our goal is simple: help your firm capture the benefits of AI without compromising the judgment, trust, and ethical standards business clients expect.
